We all need to use information for all aspects of our life, everyday, now and in the future. Learning to identify, find, access and use information effectively for lifelong learning is one of the most important things you will learn in college. The great thing about information skills, is the more you learn, the more you can continue to learn, and the easier it gets. The Internet and information technology have added a whole new dimension to information use.
For each of the following questions:
1) We live in the "information age." We all hear, read, and get all types of information everyday, for work, for home life, for school, for fun. How do you find and use information in everyday life? Provide specific examples.
2) How do you evaluate the information you use in everyday life?
3) Describe a situation where you felt you had difficulty in finding the information you needed. What was the situation? Why were you frustrated? What were the barriers? What could have helped?
4) Describe a situation in which you felt you were very successful in finding information you needed. What was the situation? Why were you successful? What made it easy?
