This course was created to assist college and university students in learning
to gather information for research. Anyone is free to use these lessons
for independent learning. Registered students will complete a series of
assignments, quizzes and a research project. The lessons were written by
Utah academic librarians, and Utah resources are emphasized. While resources
and information access may vary, the research skills learned will be useful
everywhere. Knowing how to use information resources will be helpful to
you for the rest of your life.
Here are some suggestions for gaining the most from your online learning
experience.

The Internet Navigator is an online, self paced, independent study course.
Students taking the course will be expected to take responsibility for
their own schedule and their own learning. Students may use any computer
with Internet access.

Work the modules in sequence for best comprehension results. Specific modules and assignments may be reviewed separately by clicking on the links in the syllabus.

Grading: There are 100 points possible. Review the syllabus for the point distribution.

Each Module may contain exercises, assignments and a quiz.

Deadlines: Ask your instructor for your deadlines.

Exercises are not graded but are essential to your learning and will help
you complete the assignments.

Assignments and quizzes are graded.

Because this course is electronic, students should anticipate the possibility
of technical difficulties. Students must print or save all completed
quizzes and assignments for their records.
